Every Droplet Matters

Every time a sprayer passes through a field, over 1.2 billion droplets are dispersed across every acre of crop. However, growers have long struggled with the inability to measure the efficacy of these sprays.

At AgZen, we aim to revolutionize farming practices by providing real-time insights into droplet behavior. Leveraging our expertise in fluid mechanics, interfacial physics, AI, and crop spraying, we unlock efficiencies for growers, ag equipment companies, researchers, and consumers alike.

Meet the Team

Our team comprises leading experts who have either grown up or worked on farms. At AgZen, our team members bring experience from esteemed institutions like MIT, as well as reputable companies such as John Deere, Ag Leader, and Honda, among others. With firsthand experience using backpacks, tow-behind, or self-propelled sprayers, we intimately understand the challenges growers face. Leveraging our deep understanding accumulated over years in the field, we are passionate about empowering growers to maximize the efficiency of every droplet.

Vishnu Jayaprakash

Growing up on his family farm in southern India, Vishnu experienced the inefficiencies of spraying first-hand. This inspired him to pursue a PhD focusing on optimizing droplet-leaf interactions. Today, he's turned those insights into real-world impact with a mission to revolutionizing spraying by pioneering the future of feedback-optimized agriculture.

Kripa Varanasi

Kripa Varanasi is an MIT Professor of Mechanical Engineering whose work on interfacial phenomena has driven innovations in the energy, water, and agriculture industries. He was previously a lead researcher and project leader at GE Global Research, and has co-founded several startups earning numerous awards.

Paul Deninger

Paul is a former CEO, retired investment banker, and seasoned board member with over 35 years of experience in the tech industry. He has advised hundreds of CEOs, serving on both public and private boards. He has completed over 150 M&A, financing, and IPO transactions, and built the technology industry’s leading independent M&A advisory firm.

Justin Kern

Justin has worked with companies at every stage from foundation through exit, leveraging his background in microbiology to help companies solve important problems across therapeutics, agriculture, food, and industrial applications.
